Budget Hotels In Shillong | Image Resource : hotelsinshillong.com
Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya and one of the most beautiful hill stations of India often attracts some visitors towards it each year. Leaving back the hustle and bustle of the city of Kolkata, I also had a great trip ad stay in Shillong for a week a few days back.
There are some options that can be availed in between Kolkata and Shillong, but still, I checked online to get options both in the case of the journey as well as my stay at the hill station.
My Trip from Kolkata to Shillong
Luckily, there are some direct routes from Kolkata to Shillong and to save my time; the best option that I chose was by air. I got a deal on the Air India flight online and hence booked my ticket in economy class with the Air India flight from Kolkata to Shillong. It was a 1 hour and 45 minutes’ flight, and I finally landed at the Umroi airport in Shillong.
The airport was about 30 km from the main center of Shillong. The main center is the main hub of various budget hotels in Shillong. I also got my hotel booked here in advance, so I took a cab from the airport to reach my hotel.

My Hotel Stay in Shillong
I had booked my room in a budget hotel named The Eee Cee Hotel. It is located at a convenient location in the city that is easily accessible from the airport, railway station and also from the main bus hubs of the city.
The rooms are well furnished with a comfortable and also a seating arrangement. Also, the interior of the rooms is designed with tasteful local materials of the hill station.Along with these features, there are other facilities such as free Wi-Fi, a luxurious bathroom, flat TV with satellite connection, mini fridge, electric kettle and others. The balcony of my room offered a wonderful view of the whole city.
The air-conditioned room is offered with 24-hour room service. The hotel features a multi-cuisine restaurant along with a pub. Also, there is a business center that means the hotel is comfortable for both personal stays as well as corporate events.
Air India Airline Review
Air India is the third largest airline in the country regarding theflow of passengers. The airline is owned by the Indian Government Enterprise Air India Limited. It is headquartered in New Delhi, and there are more than 90 flights daily to both domestic as well as international destinations.
Air India is known to serve the passengers with the most recent models of aircraft in Airbus and Boeing. I had my ticket in economy class, and I had a comfortable ride with a hospitable service from the crew. It was an afternoon flight, and so I was offered with lunch that was delicious and more than enough to fill in my stomach.
My stay in Shillong was worth remembering but also traveling from Kolkata to Shillong was a great experience with the amazing service of the Air India.
