Taj Mahal – Mughal ruler Shah Jahan made this beautiful monument for his wife Mumtaz Mahal after her death in child birth. The main building displays a huge dome and intricately carved white marble, which is inlaid with precious stones. The setting is beautiful and the gardens at the monument are well maintained. It’s advisable to visit the Taj Mahal before too many people get here so you can effortlessly walk through the gorgeous rooms and appreciate the beauty erected by skilled craftsmen.

Agra Fort – This famous fort is included in the World Heritage Site’s list and rightly so. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when Mughal capital was shifted from Agra to Red Fort in Delhi. This Fort is constructed in Islamic architectural style. This awe inspiring monument is embellished with several richly decorated buildings. The semi-circular plan of the fort is surrounded by a 21.4 m high fortification wall. Double ramparts have been used here with broad and large circular bastions at regular intervals. One of the four gates on four sides was named “khizri-gate” (the water gate) which opens to the river front.

Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb – This monument is often referred to as the Baby Taj Mahal. Located on the banks of river Yamuna, the Itmad-Ud-Daulah was the first ever Mughal structure to be completely built with marble. This famous monument is the tomb of Mizra Ghiyas Beg. It is adorned with tranquil gardens and walkways. Stroll in the gardens and soothe your eyes looking at the water in the intermittent water bodies.

Chini ka Rauza - Renowned for its spell binding Persian-style architecture, enamel tiles and intricate floral interior, the Chini Ka Rauza is the tomb of Afzal Khan. Its construction began 1628 and was finally completed around 1638. This monument enjoys a remote, secluded and a quiet location. The views from the upper floor of the monument are simply brilliant.

Soami Bagh Samadh - Soami Bagh Samadh mausoleum is the resting place of Huzur Soamiji Maharaj and was built 100 years ago. It is located in Dayalbagh area, which is one of the suburbs of Agra. This place is a photographer’s paradise with intricate stone carvings and coloured marble. The overall structure boasts of great architectural value.
